Move It or Lose It…In the Athletic Gear That’s Right for You

Move It or Lose It…In the Athletic Gear That’s Right for You

Athletic Gear

This pandemic has brought so much to light, the need to move our bodies despite being stuck in place paramount among them. Whether you have access to the outdoors or not, having clothes that are comfortable and inspire you to move is HUGE. By no means do you need a store full of pricey activewear; quite the contrary. If your old school Champion sweats that fit loosely are what motivate you to do those extra squats, huzzah! If a cut-up concert tee pumps you up for push ups, get to it (I recommend jamming to the tunes, too). If new compression leggings or a sweat-wicking sports bra in a cheerful pattern get you off the couch into downward dog, pull ‘em on.

And remember, even if you only wear workout clothes all day every day (and who could blame you?!), you still don’t need THAT many pieces. If you have maximum seven bottoms, seven tops and one or two outdoor layers that allow for range of motion and temperature control, you’re covered. I suggest looking at what you already have on hand, taking note of which pieces make you smile (inwardly counts!), and making a go-to capsule collection placed in easy reach.

Activewear

Lacking in one category or another? Check out places like Patagonia’s Worn Wear or The Real Real for secondhand gear, or take advantage of holiday sales happening now for that special piece that will fill in the gaps and get you moving. Consider consciously made brands Pact, Summersalt, Organic Basics, Groceries Apparel, and Wolven.

In the end, clothing that inspires and supports you is a powerful way to get and stay motivated to move your bod, and only you know the fabrics, price points, colors and manufacturers that do it for you. Tune in to your responses and if you need any assistance, always feel free to reach out. Keep moving and stay healthy, all!
