Visiting Highland Springs Ranch in Cherry Valley, CA

This past weekend we took a family road trip to the lavender fields at Highland Springs Ranch in Riverside, an easy drive from both Los Angeles or Palm Springs. This summer, through July 19, Highland Springs is hosting “A Walk Through The Lavender Fields” in place of their annual lavender festival.

This was our first official outing since Southern California has started to open up a bit and it was a great way to kick it off! The lavender fields cover 20 acres (and they have 90 different varieties) so there was plenty of space to safely explore and feel comfortable. My three year old had a great time running around and of course I loved grabbing some family pics and smelling every plant we passed. After you make it through the lavender field you circle back through an olive grove which was just as beautiful to explore.

After our walk we made our way back to the entrance to pick up some of their tasty eats which are not to be missed. The menu is full of delicious lavender treats (lemon lavender bars, iced lavender lattes and lemonades, ice cream, etc.) which we ordered and then ate in the car before leaving. They also sells tons of different products like oils, soaps and of course, lavender bunches.

Overall this was a really great outing and I highly recommend if you’re in the area or looking for an adventure. Make sure to book your tickets online before you go and keep in mind if you are 30 minutes late you will not be admitted or get a refund. They are currently open 10AM - 5PM Wednesday - Sunday, tickets range from $5-$8 depending on age and masks are required.
