Our Review of "Playing Preschool" From The Busy Toddler

When preschool closed back in March I decided I wanted to implement some type of “formal” at-home learning plan for my own sanity. While my daughter is only three and doesn’t really need an official learning plan, I knew I wanted some program to guide me through educational at-home activities in an easy and informal way. I don’t need her to sit at a desk all day practicing letters, but if I could find something that gave me some fun, structured activity guide I was all for it.

I’ve followed The Busy Toddler on Instagram for a while and am always a huge fan of her activities, so when she did a story about her ebook “Playing Preschool” I knew it was perfect for us.

Playing Preschool Review

Her book features 38 weeks of at-home learning with structured play-based activities. The book consists of two-week long “themes” such as colors, apples, etc. Every “theme” has a list of books and supplies you need that are easily (and generally cheaply) available on Amazon or your local library and if you don’t have them, you can generally find a good substitute (for example: one day was focusing on the color purple. We didn’t own the book she suggested using so instead we used another book we owned that featured purple).

Each day takes around 30 - 60 minutes and is the perfect blend of learning and fun. We’ve been doing the program for four weeks so far and everyday is enjoyable and never feels like a chore. So far my little one has learned how to write several letters, made super cool art projects, done some science experiments, learned numerous songs and poems and most importantly enjoyed every lesson plan.

Playing Preschool

For anyone with little kids looking for something to help structure the day, I highly recommend this program!

And just in case anyone is wondering, this is in no way sponsored or gifted :)

Happy at-home learning!
