My Baby Registry Essentials

IMG_2368.JPG

Over a year ago, Callie offered to host a baby shower for us at her gorgeous home in Mid-City. We set the traditional diaper sniffing games aside and opted for a vibrant garden party with our friends and family. No matter how big or small, I highly encourage celebrating this occasion. Our shower for Mia will always be one of the best days of my life.

On the food front, we were so lucky to have Sweet Greens (the chopped salad!!) providing super delicious organic salads and Dream Pops pop-up serving samples of all of their delicious flavors to our guests (Mango Rosemary.. yum).

When it came to gifting, we decided to set up our registry with Amazon. Alex and I have family all over, from Wisconsin to Manila. And this being our first babe, we wanted to give everyone the opportunity to shower Mia with gifts without the headache of shipping limitations.

Amazon’s Universal Registry was a great solution for us and made gift giving super easy.

And just because there was a registry set up, it didn’t stop our friends from going off book – see the bottom of this post for five items that I didn’t know I needed.

But first… here’s five items from my original baby list that I’ve used really frequently over this past year:

1. Hatch Baby Rest Light and Sound Machine | 2. Skip Hop Picnic Blanket and Cooler  | 3.  Nuk Natural Bottles (comes in plastic and glass options - we loved both)

| 4. Infant Optics Baby Monitor | 5. Ubbi Diaper Pail

Some of our guests made their own gifts like crocheted blankets and nursery décor created by indie artists. One veteran parent couple bought us a sampling of their must-have items from Amazon (all of which I didn’t have on my list) and I’m sharing these very practical, complete life saver items below:

1. Baby Shusher | 2. Aquaphor Ointment | 3. Chicco Pacifiers | 4. Nature Bond Breastmilk Catcher | 5. Baby Bum Diaper Brush

I am so grateful to have the loving support of friends and family, near and far. I know my baby girl is growing up happy & healthy and that’s what matters most. This sampling of gifts served as practical tools that made our lives a little easier and our baby a lot happier. I really hope you find those simple tools to ease your transition into parenthood.
